Many of us consider our dads to be superheroes. Here’s a chance to make them feel like one on Father’s Day dressed as their favorite hero characters and all.

The Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlantais hosting Superhero Day on Father’s day from noon - 4 p.m. Guests are invited to come dressed in their most heroic garb and take part in the Superhero Costume Contest. There will be games, drawings from comic book artists, arts and crafts and screening of clips from superhero themed shows.

Attendees are also invited to save the world from terrible villains by carefully navigating cones and hula hoops in Fernbank’s “Save the World” game. They’ll find out if their character for the day is good or evil with the superhero/villain name generator game.

Captain America, Wonder Woman and Batman will be patrolling the premises and stopping for photo ops thanks to Atlanta based comic publisher and animator Terminus who are providing those costumed stars.

Life size comic book cut-outs of favorite heroes will also be around for picture taking.

Superhero Day is one of several summer offerings featured during Fernbank’s 97 Days of Play series.

All Superhero Day activities are included with Museum admission and are free for Fernbank members, $18 for adults, $17 for students and seniors, $16 for children ages 3-12 and free for children ages 2 and under. Museum admission includes access to the special exhibition Whales: Giants of the Deep.
