Downton Abbey star Dame Maggie Smith is now part of an exclusive group.

Queen Elizabeth II inducted her into the Order of the Companions of Honour Friday to celebrate Smith’s six decades in theater, film and television.

The award is limited to only 65 living people “of distinction.” Other members of this small group include physicist Stephen Hawking, actor Ian McKellen and artist David Hockney.

Smith was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire back in 1990. (That accounts for her “Dame” title!)

She can be seen back on PBS on January 5, 2015 as the imperious Dowager Countess, Lady Violet.

In the meantime, she’s currently filming the movie “The Lady in the Van,” recreating her stage role as a homeless woman who parked for years in the driveway of playwright Alan Bennett.
