This Thursday night, Velvet Caravan will “Swing Into Spring” with a concert of their signature gypsy jazz music performed in the sanctuary at Trinity United Methodist Church in Savannah. Since their performance last year at SXSW, the band has been increasing their national tour schedule which, band members Jared Hall and Ricardo Ochoa, say makes this hometown show even sweeter.
San Francisco-based guitarist Jimmy Grant will join them along with some and special hometown guests, vocalist Rebecca Flaherty and Stan Ray from The Accomplices. The concert will be a mix of their older and latest work, as well as standards and pieces by Grant.
Jared and Ricardo talked with us about this concert, the history of the band and the album they’re getting ready to record. Hear more of our conversation in the audio link below.
