Melvin Jones

Mel Jones came to GPB in November 1999 from the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education where he had served as Director of Personnel since 1997. At DTAE he directed the agency's human resources functions for the central office and the 33 technical institutes around the state.

Jones was directly responsible for staffing and recruitment, compensation, personnel transactions, employee relations and development, the DTAE personnel evaluation system and benefit administration. Retired from the U. S. Air Force after more than 20 years of service, Jones has a broad background in the human resources arena.
