Mark Harmon, has been covering the Georgia and Atlanta sports scene since arriving in Atlanta in 1992. Since that day in November and was lucky enough to cover all kinds of major events from the preps to the pros including:

The Olympics, 3 World Series, 3 Super Bowls, 17 Masters, 2 PGA Championships, the Daytona 500 and all the great races at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, along with the MLB, NBA, and NHL All Star Games and playoffs. He has covered the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Kennesaw State athletics along with all the great high school sports the state of Georgia has to offer including the GHSA championships in football, basketball, and cheerleading. Mark won a record eight Associated Press first place awards for best sportscast in Georgia along with the 2013 Emmy for hosting the All Access Pass Pregame Show on GPB.

Mark joined the GPB Sports team in 2010 and has been the sports director since 2012. In 2010, he was one of the hosts of GPB Sports half hour Sports Central Show and has been the host of Football Fridays in Georgia since day one. It has been a lot of fun to see how GPB Sports has grown and improved its coverage each year, constantly striving to bring our viewers the top games, with the best players, and the most innovative coaches from around the state of Georgia. It all culminates in the GHSA state football championships at the Georgia Dome, which is a terrific two-day football fiesta of tackles, touchdowns, and trophy presentations. Mark was also been the host for the GHSA Basketball Championships which are held in March. GPB Sports has also worked with the Georgia State Golf Association producing a one-hour special on the 2014 Georgia State Amateur on which he reported and hosted.
