The two guests for this segment are Dr. Patricia Paterson, Executive Director of Teacher Quality Initiatives for the University System of Georgia Board of Regents and Cynthia Rutledge, from the Oconee Regional Education Services Agency and Georgia TAPP Coordinator. These experts discuss the variety of programs for teacher preparation and the qualities that contribute to successful candidates.
The panel represents three levels of classroom experience and training models. Jayne Duncan is the AVID teacher from J. J. Daniell Middle School. She has been an educator for 34 years. Cheryl Winsor is a 1st Grade teacher from Unity Grove Elementary School and is in her second year of teaching. Cheryl became a teacher after raising a family and having another profession. Kimberly Toliver is a Reading teacher from T. J. Elder Middle School. Kimberly was trained through Georgia's Teacher Alternative Preparation Program (TAPP).
They share their experiences and motivation to work in the classroom.
